Montserrat is a mountain in Catalonia. In the Caribbean, it's a volcanic island. Montserrat Torrents was born in 1970 in Terrassa, an industrial city near Barcelona. Later, the winds of life blew her to the Balearic Islands, to Minorca, an enchanted rock surrounded by coloured sand lapped by waves of iridescent blue. Actually she lives in northern Burgundy, on the banks of the river Yonne, ever since Michel Moglia lit her imagination with his mastery of fire, source of both visual and acoustic energy. Now she has chosen her future path: a creative adventure in partnership with the flames that will breathe life into the characters and dreamlike landscapes she etches into delicate sheets of clay.
